Coastal, Ports and Marine Structures Engineering

Introduction

Rugged waters, ocean terrain, Sea & Subsea Platforms, Trunk lines can be found in offshore operations. These operations involve exploration and production (E&P) above sea level and deep into the crevices of the ocean. The majority of Iran’s offshore operations are located on the Persian Gulf, predominantly off the shores of Bushehr & Assaluyeh. Strong technical skills, plus the stamina, balance and enthusiasm are required for offshore engineers to succeed in such a unique working environment.

In the Coastal, Ports and Marine Structures Engineering program, several courses are offered to prepare the graduate students to analyze, design, construct and manage the systems operating in the coastal and offshore environments. The faculty members in this Group have comprehensive expertise in diverse topics of coastal and offshore engineering such as:

  • Drilling and completions
  • Anchoring and mooring
  • Marine corrosion
  • Consulting and project management
  • Pipelines, Trunk & infield
  • Platforms, production & wellhead
  • Process controls and systems
  • Quality control and inspection
  • Flow assurance
  • Subsea processes
  • Offshore structures
