Attention Applicants of the 1405 (2026) Semi-Integrated PhD Entrance Exam in Civil Engineering

Regarding the procedure for this year’s PhD entrance exam, please carefully note the following points:

1. All announcements from the Vice-Chancellor for Education of the University of Tehran regarding the 1405 PhD exam are available on the university website at academics.ut.ac.ir.
2. All announcements from the Civil Engineering PhD Exam Committee for 1405 are available on the Faculty of Civil Engineering website at civeng.ut.ac.ir.
3. After the results of the first stage of interviews are announced by the National Organization for Educational Testing (Sanjesh), you can contact us for questions and answers via the Bale messaging app, and your inquiries will be responded to as promptly as possible.
4. The interview stage of the 1405 semi-integrated PhD exam at the Faculty of Civil Engineering consists of two steps:

Creating the Candidate File:
In this step, applicants must, within the timeframe to be announced later, register on academics.ut.ac.ir and upload all documents to the University’s Education Management System (EMS). In addition, all documents must be separately organized into subfolders (educational records, declaration forms, conference papers, journal articles, books, etc.), compressed into a single ZIP file, and emailed to civil.gs@ut.ac.ir.

Submitting educational and research documents in the EMS and via email within the specified timeframe is mandatory. Failure to complete any step of the file submission process on time will be considered a withdrawal from participating in the PhD interview.

Final File Naming Format:
PH04- Field – Surname-First Name
Example: PHD01-ERQ-Ahmadi-Ahmad

The subfolder structure in the ZIP file should also be prepared according to the format shown below.

• Interview Stage:
  After evaluating the educational and research documents of the Civil Engineering PhD applicants, the interview will be conducted in person, and the interview schedule will be announced later.

  Checklist of Required Educational and Research Documents for File Submission
  (For Semi-Integrated PhD Applicants)

  Please note that submission of the following documents is mandatory for file completion:

• Final Registration Confirmation in the University of Tehran’s Golestan Academic System.
• Scientific Declaration Form uploaded on the Faculty of Civil Engineering website (ensure it is submitted in the Excel format provided; the colored columns will be completed by the faculty).
• Scientific Declaration Verification Form available on the Faculty website (after completing and signing the form, scan and submit it).
• Three Academic Recommendation Letters from your professors; at least one must be from your MSc thesis supervisor.
• Copy of English Language Certificate, including exam date and score.
• Copy of High School Diploma.
• Copy of Bachelor’s Degree Certificate and Transcript.
• Copy of Master’s Degree Certificate (for graduates) and Master’s Transcript (for both graduates and current students).
• Minutes of MSc Defense (for graduates).
• Full-text Journal Papers accepted for publication, accompanied by the acceptance letter and DOI in the Declaration Form. In addition, submit a supervisor’s confirmation letter on the university letterhead and stamped by the faculty. (Papers not confirmed by the supervisor will not be scored. Submitted-but-not-accepted papers should not be included.)
• Full-text Published Journal Papers, including the journal’s identification page and URL, listed in the Declaration Form. For accepted or published ISI journals, refer to the links below, type the journal name or ISSN, and print the result page including journal details. Also, obtain the Q index from the second link and record it in the Declaration Form:

  • SCImago Journal Rank
• Full-text Published Conference Papers, including the conference participation certificate and the page of the published paper in the conference proceedings. Include the conference URL in the Declaration Form. (Papers without the certificate or proceedings will not be scored.)
• Official Document Confirming Special Quotas (e.g., for veterans or instructors).
• Book Cover Page, including the table of contents and the page containing the book’s bibliographic information and ISBN.
• Certificates of Academic Awards in scientific festivals or Olympiads.
• Ranking Certificates (1st to 3rd place) for Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees.
• Other Research Documents.
• Results of the First and Second Stage of Sanjesh Exams.
