Center for Research and Development of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (TECNOSA)
Introduction
The quantitative and qualitative growth of construction projects is considered one of the most prominent indicators of a country's development. However, today construction projects face several challenges, including environmental waste, resource inefficiency, and the low productivity of traditional methods. These issues directly lead to increased costs, substandard quality, and delays in project completion.
Therefore, the TECHNOSA Center for Research and Development of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies strives to address these challenges by leveraging the expertise of its specialists and researchers, in line with the latest global knowledge. By applying modern management techniques and cutting-edge technologies being implemented worldwide in the construction industry, the center aims to make a significant contribution to overcoming these challenges in construction projects.
This approach not only improves the final quality and reduces project time and costs but also mitigates adverse environmental impacts. Another key objective of the center is to provide training and enhance the organizational culture of companies and institutions within the construction industry.

University of Tehran Center for Road and Transportation Studies
Introduction
The University of Tehran Center for Road and Transportation Studies (MOTAREH) was established to help address the country’s scientific and research needs in the field of civil engineering, particularly in road engineering, transportation, traffic engineering, logistics and supply chain, crisis management, construction management, and highway structures.
The center aims to make optimal use of the capacities and capabilities available within the university, its faculties, and their specialized programs, while responding to the research needs of executive organizations, including:
-
Tehran Municipality and its affiliated units, such as the Tehran Traffic Control Company and the Traffic Organization,
-
Municipalities of other cities and their affiliates,
-
Ministry of Roads and Urban Development and its subsidiaries, such as the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways and the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization,
-
Crisis Management Organization and Passive Defense Organization,
-
Other agencies involved in road, transportation, traffic, logistics, highway structures, and geotechnical studies, and
-
Industries and other sectors related to these fields.
The center’s activities are conducted through defined projects in road and transportation engineering, primarily in an applied and interdisciplinary manner, covering areas such as:
-
Transportation planning engineering
-
Traffic engineering
-
Passenger behavior modeling
-
Highway geotechnics
-
Pavement engineering
-
Highway structures
-
Construction management
-
Logistics and supply chain management
-
Crisis management in transportation networks
-
Transportation engineering and sustainable development
-
Urban planning (particularly from the perspective of transportation and traffic engineering)

University of Tehran Water Institute
Introduction
Considering the vital importance of water in human life and the extensive scope of development projects for the country’s water resources, as well as the breadth of sciences and technologies related to the water industry and the comprehensive educational and research activities of the University of Tehran, the idea of establishing the University of Tehran Water Institute was proposed following the suspension of activities at the National Hydrology Institute. This proposal was developed over several periods by different working groups, and the administrative approval process progressed significantly.
The final step of these efforts initially led to the University Board of Trustees’ approval on 28 February 2000 (9/12/1378) to establish the “Water Issues Coordination Group.” Eventually, on 15 March 2004 (25/12/1382), the proposed statute submitted by the Faculties of Engineering, Agriculture, Environment, and the Abureihan Educational Complex was approved, and the Water Institute was officially established.
The main goal of the institute is to provide the necessary framework to optimize the use of the University of Tehran’s resources in addressing the specialized, educational, and research needs of the water industry, while enhancing the university’s capacity to engage in such collaborations.
In defining the institute’s objectives and responsibilities, strong attention has been given to the water industry. For example, the institute’s statute lists the following duties:
-
Identifying resources and capacities to provide necessary services to the water industry
-
Identifying the needs of the water industry and presenting them to relevant university units
-
Coordinating the university’s capabilities to address the scientific needs of the water industry
-
Providing facilities and services to researchers to meet the water industry’s requirements
-
Planning to strengthen the university’s scientific capacity in fields related to the water industry
